Our new blog is up and running but for it to truly be a Pine Needle community resource we need your input. We would love to display images of your favorite quilts to inspire and awe others. To entice you, Geri is offering an "employee discount" for a monthly winner of the best picture. Be creative or let your beautiful quilt speak for itself.
We also would love to share your favorite quilting tips with The Pine Needle community on our blog. Send either images or tips to friends@pineneedlequiltshop.com
Looking for a little quilting fun? Check out our website Fun & Games. Geri loves games and puzzles. Each month Geri will have something new. To make it more fun, enter your correctly completed puzzle for a drawing. See our Fun & Games (listed just below our name on the website) for details. | | New Tool Demonstrations June 20th - Mark Your Calendar! You won't want to miss this: On June 20 we will demonstrate two new tools designed for the quilter and sewer. We LOVE the new Bias Tape Maker and you will too. For the quilter the BTM also makes two sizes of binding as well as several sizes of bias tape (available in the fall). Come watch it in use and take one home for yourself! $99.99 The Gripper, another favorite new tool, comes in 3 handy sizes.
Use The Gripper to find and pick up your rulers quickly. The broad size increases the stability of the ruler giving you increased accuracy while cutting and reduces the risk of cuts to your fingers. The Grippers attach quickly to the smooth surface of most acrylic rulers. You can move The Grippers easily from ruler to ruler with a flip of the lever to release the suction cup. The Little Gripper, the newest, is perfect for use on any 2.25" or larger acrylic templates. $6.59 The "In-between" Gripper provides a super strong 4" single suction cup with a handy Installation Indicator for use with your larger rulers and templates. $16.00 The Original Gypsy Gripper with its two suction cups allows complete control of your larger rulers. It attaches quickly at one or both ends to fit a variety of ruler sizes. $19.99

| | Did you know.....? Having trouble with your thread knotting or curling when you hand stitch binding or appliqué? To prevent this, thread your needle before cutting the thread from the spool. This way you are working with the direction of the thread wrap on the spool. Then run your thread through the thread conditioner, Thread Heaven. The conditioner will smooth your thread, does not leave any "globs" on the thread and will not harm your fabrics.
Did you know...that two to three times more damage occurs to thread during the process of sewing than it will encounter during the rest of its lifetime in the finished project, whether from wear, laundering, or environmental conditions. The damage occurs from the continual pulling of the thread in and out of the work.
Thread Heaven extends the lifetime of the thread and the finished product by cutting down the stress and drag on your thread while you sew, and by leaving an invisible and virtually impenetrable coating that protects against UV rays, mold and mildew. Just a hint - Happy Quilting | The Pine Needle's
