Rainy Day Inspiration

The Pacific NW often brings  a load of liquid sunshine! We will not be let down this week!!!
A rainy day is perfect for starting a new project, stitching on that binding, labeling a completed quilt...
Here are a few patterns I have either made or am contemplating...
This book is written completely in Japanese. Although I don't understand a word of Japanese (who cares!) the pictures are so inspiring...
These are my favorite little scissors, great for clipping threads at the machine or while doing hand work...
If you've never tried printed treasures for making a label, take advantage of a rainy day and try it...

More inspiration can be found by hopping on over to The Pine Needle to check out all the beautiful fabrics, books, quilts and notions.  You can join us this Friday, April 2 for Happy Hour from 10:00 - 12:00 where Janet Pendergrass will be teaching a class to help you construct the Bistro Apron designed by Michelle from Busy Bee Quilt Designs. Saturday, April 3, we are hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for all you quilters. The pinecones will be hiding eggs all around the store filled with candy, discounts and fabric!

We love to hear from you, leave us a comment about your rainy day inspiration!!!

*The patterns, books and notions in this post are all available at The Pine Needle

Making Memories

The Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation is at the Pine Needle! One of their programs is called Quilters Against Breast Cancer. This is what the foundation has to say about the program...

Stitching Wishes
Is quilting your passion? Then join the scores of quilters who donate thier time and talent to help Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation grant wishes to terminally ill breast cancer patients.

The Quilters Against Breast Cancer program gives you the opportunity to transform damaged wedding gowns into beautiful works of art. We provide the fabric, you provide the imagination! Quilts made for us by volunteers are then offered for sale by QABC with proceeds going toward Making Memories' wish fulfuillment fund. Selected quilts are reserved for dispaly in QABC's traveling exhibit, The Quilt a Wish Collection, for thousands to enjoy.

Can you say Field Trip...

"What would happen," we wondered, "if each of us made a piece that had a common element? A green line that danced from piece to piece, to suit the vision of each artist, yet spoke to the others in the room."
