One of the hardest things about leaving Oregon and moving to Minnesota in 2008 was leaving my quilting friends behind!




Picutre #1 My friend Cathy Smith of Bend and I both had purchased this quilt kit from your store a few years ago. We finally finished it and here is Cathys.

Picture #3 In February Cathy came to visit me in Minnesota. For one week we quilted 11 of our quilt tops! Here are all our finished projects We decided to do it annually. A local quilt shop rents computerized quilting machines by the hour. We had a riot the week we spent there quilting, laughing and sharing our lives.

















Picture #4 My "As Time Goes By" Quilt...we got this pattern and fabric on a shop hop in Central Washington in 2007. I finished and quilted it in 2009 for a good friend.







We always enjoyed stopping at your shop on our way to the fall Portland Quilt Expo. And of course...we still have some UFO's from our visits!

Hi Pine Needle,

Margie Beckett said I could put a picture on your blog site. How did I miss that?

This is my favorite piece of hand applique. It was to have several more borders but this just seemed like the right place to stop. I also machine quilted it (one of the few).

I made this from the College Classic quilt kit as a Christmas present for my daughter Ashley and her fiance Ryan--they are big Duck fans!

Small amounts of fabrics were left over after the blocks were cut so I decided that they would be just the right size for Oregon "O" s appliques--just to make sure they knew it was an Oregon quilt. I also sewed some of the scraps together and cut a continuous spiral binding for it.

The fabric was a dream to sew and it went together pretty quickly. This is the first quilt that I made from start to finish, including the quilting--my sister helped my sew the binding down because she knows I don't like it very much--thanks, Elaine! I actually got it finished for Christmas--which my family considers the real Christmas miracle!

It is the favorite snuggle quilt--even for Penny, their dog, who is peeking from under the quilt.

Accurate ¼” seams

Having trouble with patchwork pieces not matching? Maybe you are not using a quilters ¼” seam. A “quilters ¼” seam” is a seam allowance that provides the correct result. Check your seam allowance by stitching together 2 strips of fabric 2” wide by about 6”. Open the strips and measure across the width. This should measure 3 ½” for the perfect quilters seam. This is usually a slight 1/4". Adjust the placement of the strips until you are stitching this result and mark your machine bed.
