Greetings!
With all the delightful early summer-like weather, we, the Pine Cones, have been sneaking views of our beautiful snow capped Mt. Hood and admiring all of the lovely floral displays in Lake Oswego. Our new "The View" quilt, featured in our Summer 2012 catalog, lets us share with you some of those wonderful flowers in summer purples. And just think with " The View" you won't have to find the right vase, change the water or worry about what else came in with the flowers (Ops...sorry, guess that's my phobia--spiders!)
Our Summer 2012 catalog was delivered to the printer yesterday and will be mailed early next week. We hope you will enjoy the lively colors, the new quilts and many classes we will offer this summer.

A Fun New Way to Share Your Love of Quilts and Other Things Too!
Pinterest
Do you know about Pinterest? Peggy, our Facebook editor, shared her Pinterest site with us and we were awed. Pinterest is called a pinboard-style social photo sharing website. The users create and manage their own theme based image collections such as quilts, food, gardening, events and more. Once you become a user you can browse other pinboards for inspiration, 're-pin' images to your own collections and/or 'like' photos. Pinterest's mission is to provide a global platform of inspiration and idea sharing through imagery.
With oohs and awes while exploring Pinterest with Peggy, we just knew we had to set up a site of our own. You can see a little of Pinterest by clicking on the link below. Maybe you will be inspired to start your own Pinterest account.

Bubba's Beer Biscuits
Recipe courtesy of Paula Deen
At our recent potluck staff meeting one of the Pine Cones brought these wonderful biscuits that we all delightfully gobbled up. Easy to make and easy to enjoy too!
Ingredients
Biscuits:
4 cups biscuit mix
1/4 cup sugar
1 (12-ounce) can beer
1 tablespoon butter, melted
Honey Butter:
1/2 pound butter
2 tablespoons honey
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients together and mix well. Pour the batter into well-greased muffing tins and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden.
Allow the butter to soften to room temperature. Using an electric mixer whip the butter and honey together until well mixed and smooth.
Serve the biscuits while still warm with the honey butter.

The Gypsy Pin Pal
Magnetic Wrist Strap
The Gypsy Pin Pal, a handy magnetic bracelet for quilting and sewing, keeps your pins conveniently close for pinning or, even better, unpinning. You save time and effort by not inserting each pin into a pin cushion or locating a magnetic holder on your sewing table every time you remove or need a pin. Once you try it, you will never go back to an old fashioned pin holder.
Constructed of durable woven nylon, with a hook and loop fastener, this wrist pin holder easily adjust to any wrist size. Sixteen imbedded magnets hold your pins until you need them. We recently demonstrated them in the store and sold out with rave reviews.
