FYI, Westside Modern Quilt Club would normally meet on May 31st (the last wednesday of the month) but because our retreats are happening at about the same time, we won;t be having a meeting this month.
Please join us next month, on June 28th, when we'll be back to our regular schedule.
We're always interested in ideas for speakers or programs, so please let any of us Pinecones know what you want to see and hear.
Thanks!

Small Projects
It's the time of year when it's hard to image surrounding yourself with a big, warm, quilt. But summer time and travels mean visiting friends, exploring quilt shops, and still spending some time at the sewing machine. So, we suggest some smaller projects perfect for giving as gifts, for using those special fabrics you've picked up, and for sewing up something quick and satisfying.
We've got quite a few kits and patterns for a variety of fun projects.
Brand new is this Sew Adorable Fabric Basket which Pam has kitted up in a variety of fabric combos.
We've also got a super cute Iron Caddy and pressing station. Perfect for taking along to sewing retreats or sew days with friends.
The Take Four Placemat pattern is a great way to use all those fat quarters you've been collecting, or pick up one of the Squared Up kits in which we've already coordinated some fabulous fabrics.

Spring/Summer Classes
There's still room in our new Quiltmaking 101 class with Dawn White, and Linda Reinert is teaching two circle classes. These are the perfect opportunity to learn to quilt from the ground up, or to add a new technique to your sewing "toolbox."
Our Sew With series is a great way to get a little help or encouragement on those projects that may have stumped you, or that you just need the opportunity to get them done. The classes meet once a month with either Pam Raby, Linda Reinert, or Dawn White, who each have many years of sewing and quilting experience to share. Bring whatever project you want to work on, and your instructor will be there to help as needed. It's also a great way to connect with other quilters for camaraderie and sewing accountability!
Sign up online, or in the store. Check back as well because we'll probably be adding other one and two day workshops as the summer progresses.
